The National Democratic Congress (NDC) inherited a flawed leadership along with corruption and corruption-related activities, according to Mustapha Gbande, the Deputy Director of Operations at the Presidency.
“President Mahama is dedicated to fighting corruption and bridging the leadership gap,” he said.
“Our base is comprised of illegal activity, corruption, and a lack of integrity and leadership. On Sunday, April 20, 2025, on Hot Issues on TV3, he stated, “That is what we met and that is what we want to clean up.”
The Deputy NDC General Secretary emphasized that the security force has shown its dedication to combating crimes like money laundering and cocaine activities since President Mahama took office, which he said had not been the case under the previous administration.
Mr. Gbande pointed out that during the previous Akufo-Addo administration, these crimes were being committed covertly and that the public was not seeing any government action to stop them.
“Today, 100 days after taking office, you are witnessing crimes that you have not witnessed in the previous eight years.” You won’t even get the chance to learn about such crimes. As a result, you have a security force that is battling crime in the nation. Cybersecurity, money laundering, drug activities, and political incentive crimes are all being clamped down on.
“Under President Akufo-Addo, these things would not have been known to you; they were taking place, but you would not have heard about them. However, we are combating these issues now,” he declared.
