Officials of South African football giants Kaizer Chiefs have paid a courtesy visit to the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, at the Manhyia Palace in Kumasi, ahead of their Toyota Cup clash with Asante Kotoko.
The two clubs are scheduled to meet in this year’s prestigious Toyota Cup on July 28 in South Africa.
During the visit, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II praised the strength of Asante Kotoko while also acknowledging the legacy and influence of Kaizer Chiefs in African football. He emphasized the significance of the growing relationship between the two clubs and commended football for its unique ability to unite people across different cultures and nations.
The occasion further deepened the friendship between the two sides, with the upcoming fixture expected to symbolize sportsmanship and mutual respect.
The visit concluded in a warm and friendly atmosphere, with both parties expressing goodwill ahead of the much-anticipated showdown. Asante Kotoko are expected to leave Ghana next week for South Africa to honour the fixture.
